How to Wax Yourself: A Kardashian Konfidential

So I admit it. I'm a complete fan of chick lit. But the new book, "Kardashian Konfidential" penned by reality TV's highest paid sisters Kourtney, Kim and Khloe takes it to an entirely differently level! You might as well just call it "Keeping Up With The Kardashians: The Picture Book."

While flipping through the photo heavy autobiography (which is a super easy read), there was one page that completely caught me off guard. It was called, "How to Wax Yourself."

I was like, 'OK, so now K.K. is an esthetician?' But then I remembered that episode when Kourtney gave Khloe a Va-J-J waxing and it all seemed to make sense...

 

Um. That's not normal. I totally should have warned you about that"behind the scenes" waxing part. So sorry. Let's try to forget about that and move on. 

While in the book, the Kardashian sisters advise taking a pain reliever about 30 minnutes before and using ice to dull the pain, the following article says cooling the skin tightens up the pores and could make it hurt even worse: How to Guide: Waxing Bikini Area.

Marie Claire magazine also offers the following "DOs" and "DON'Ts" for gals interested in at-home waxing:

1. DO start with the legs if you’ve never given yourself a wax before (more here).

2. DON’T attempt a Brazilian wax by yourself.

3. DO apply tooth numbing cream in the area you plan to wax about half an hour prior.

4. DON’T moisturize right before the wax.

5. DO soak up moisture with baby powder, which will allow the wax to adhere to your hair better.

6. DON’T pull at the hair every which way. Make sure you’re pulling the wax strip against the grain of hair growth.

7. DO exfoliate and moisturize after waxing to smooth skin and to remove any wax residue.

8. DON’T go over the same area more than three times -- you will irritate the skin and increase your odds of ingrown hairs.

Alright ladies. If this hasn't scared you (or scarred you), then it should definitely help you in your hair removal adventures. Happy waxing!

Buff Body of the Week: Kris Humphries

It's nothin' but net as reality mega star, Kim Kardashian bags another hottie!

This week's Buff Body is none other than New Jersey Nets forward, Kris Humphries, who is the latest in a long line of rumored love interests of Kim Kardashian.

Kim Humphries? It has a nice ring to it.

That's right, the Queen of Twitter, who is 30 and lives in the Los Angeles area, has been spotted by various celeb chasers getting up-close and very personal with the 25-year-old NBA star, who's team is based more than 3,000 miles away from Kimmy K.'s hometown.

Ah, but maybe the two met while filming the New York-based reality spin off, "Kourtney and Kim Take New York!"?

Nevertheless, news of their romance comes with a bit of controversy because just a few weeks ago (Thanksgiving to be exact) Kim K. reportedly gave thanks to Halle Berry's baby daddy, Gabriel Aubry. She even brought Aubry to the Kardashian-Jenner Thanksgiving family dinner, according to New York Daily News.

But that was just a fling, according to various reports, nothing as serious as when she was with NOLA Saint (Who Dat?) Reggie Bush.

No word yet on whether Buff Body Humphries will last through the holidays, but just in case he doesn't, I would like to take this time to thank his mama and his daddy for a bod like that!

The Signature Chefs Auctions are exciting events that pay tribute to the culinary distinction of 15 to 25 of the finest chefs, caterers and local celebrity chefs while raising money to support the March of Dimes mission of saving babies. Each chef is asked to present their signature dish in miniature form as well as donate a unique package to be sold during a live auction. Guest are invited to bid on a variety of packages related to entertainment, dining, leisure and travel in the lively live auction. Signature Chefs Auctions have been held in more than 20 cities across the country (Go Washington D.C.!) and these events have raised more than $132 million for the March of Dimes since 1989. The 2010 honorary chef is Ris Lacoste, Executive Chef and Owner of Ris. 

WJLA-TV news anchor Leon Harris will serve as master of ceremonies. Oh snap. See you there!

Check out all the action from this years Fashion Fights Poverty held at the Artisphere in Rosslyn, Va. 

This years  non-runway event (yes that's right) this year was all about getting interactive and up close and personal with the models. And this year had a RAW theme. Singer Matisse rocked it out. It was real and it was raw!

Guess what time it is? It's CELEBRITY DOPPELGANGER TIME. That's what time it is. Each week DC ON HEELS will be bringing you the DC HOT 3 list.  Every Monday@ 4:30 and 6:30 p.m. on  TBDTV (Comcast Channel 28) we will be bringing you our entertainment segment of what's hot and what's not in D.C. This week it's all about Fashion Fights Poverty, Miracle Brazilian Jeggings by Beija-Flor, and our Celebrity Doppelganger who is  none other than TBD anchorman Morris Jones. Morris asks us each week about  all the fun trending topics in DC! It was only appropriate that we made him our trending Doppelganger of the week! 

Coming in strong at the number one spot at 72% for MoJo's look-alike is Aussie sensation Hugh Jackman. Funnily enough before I entered  Morris's photo on the Website My Heritage to find out who his celeb look-a likes were, I was watching the movie "Wolverine" Wow I must have been subconsciously channeling Mojo's celeb twin. Ok... or not....maybe it was just coincidence. But still.
