Real Housewives of Beverly Hills D-R-A-M-A

I can't wait for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion show/meltdown/apocalypse. Looks like some DRAMA with a capital D is going down.

Camille is still the delusional, narcissistic, catty housewife that she's been "portrayed"as (news flash Camille--you can't be painted a certain way if there's no truth behind it-- the editors aren't Picasso.) Kyle still seems to be the fan favorite but can't stop "bullying" her loopy, cooky sister Kim, who may or may not have a drinking problem--see clip below. I'm still waiting for Taylor to ditch her socially inept cowboy boot wearing husband, lets hope by next season he's completely out of the picture. It looks like Vanderpump, not Lisa but her Chihuahua holding hubby, dishes out his hatred for someone on the set that's not a housewife, we only know it's a man--again see clip below. Seems like the only calm normal one out  of the clan is Adrienne, who would probably rather be working out or bickering with her goofy,  lovable Dr. husband Paul, then hanging out with her prissy pre-madonna counterparts.

And in more Housewife news, DC housewife Michaele Salahi was spotted earlier this month at Alexandria hair salon Circe Salon and Day Spa with her husband...what you didn't actually think that she would be by herself at a hair salon did you?

What's up with the wearing white all the time Micahaele?! Not hatin' just sayin'

But things have been kind of quiet on both sides of the Potomac and rumor has it that there is a strong possibility that the DC Housewives franchise will NOT be picked up for another season, since lets face it, it was a real snoozefest.

Ahh I'm still yawning... But even if it is picked up for a second season, more rumors are a buzz that Bravo is seriously pissed with the Salahi's for all their drama (and not the good NeNe kind) and have fired the deviant duo. I guess we will just have to wait and see what really happens. In the meantime, I'll be gearing up for the NYC Housewives Season 4 sans Bethenny Frankel. Frankel is contractually obligated to make limited appearances--as she is still filming her successful spinoff "Bethenny Getting Married."

What city would you like to see the Housewife Franchise in? I'm thinking Texas may be next, just a hunch. Although I think Bravo should just stick to their roots and bring us some more Orange County drama. Ok happy reality t.v. watching. Leave a comment and tell me your thoughts about the Beverly Hills reunion show!

Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden and Project Fundway photo hightlights

DC's the '90's grunge=Orange Juice in Bishop's Garden

Orange Juice in Bishop’s Garden is a fiercely local and independent web series, set in DC about the lives of a group of a teens growing up in the 90s. Quick flashback to the '90s when we were all watching the show that was in the most popular and coveted zip code on the planet "90210." Is the theme song still going through your head?

Love the acid wash jeans!! Oh how I miss the '90s

Was it Kelly or Brenda who you aspired to be? Were you Team Brandon or Team Dylan?

DC ON HEELS supports local entertainment in the nation's capital! With an array strong young actors, OBJB takes you through a real and raw look of peer pressure, teen relationships, popularity, sexuality, rebellion and so much more. The series centers around being 16 y.o. in DC in 1994 and the story follows the lives of a group of teenagers during the summer. Meet the characters here

 Watch the very fist episode!

Season 3 finds the teens growing up and getting down in 1996. Think grunge, Doc Martens, rave and underage tomfoolery. The class of 1996 did it! They finally graduated. All that dumb high school drama is so yesterday. Or is it? Sarah’s and Gwen’s future plans just don’t seem to mix. Meanwhile, Libby, Alex, Tamsin and Remi face an endless summer of gummy worm fishing, ice cream eating and the occasional late night rave in an abandoned warehouse. Remi becomes a fakey faker and Alex finds herself in her own complicated love triangle between too cool for school Sam and nerdy Davis. And…Adrian trips on acid and joins the Navy.

Join the teens as they pull you into their world of grunge florals and general jankiness during another summer in D.C… the summer when everything changes.

AND NOW FOR THE A*HEEL OF THE WEEK

Wide Receiver Randy Moss needs to eat a big fat piece of humble pie. He is my a*heel of the week. Who does he think he is?! You would think somebody who didn't come from a lot, and parlayed his athletic abilities to become an NFL player that  makes millions of dollars would remember his roots. But the comments he made about the food that was catered to he and his  team, by Gus Tinucci, the proprietor of Tinnuci's Restaurant and Catering was just unacceptable.

Said Tunucci:
"We had the whole buffet set up, and we had a nice spread--chicken,ribs, round of beef with a carving station, the whole deal. (Moss) he comes in, and I'm helping one of the guys and didn't look up, and all of a sudden I heard, 'What the (expletive) is this? I wouldn't feed this (expletive expletive) to my (expletive) dog!' And he's screaming it at the top of his lungs. "He never even came through the line. He walked up towards it, looked at it, made the big stink and walked away. He didn't eat.

I really hope that Moss makes a public apology for his childish behavior and especially to Mr. Tinucci. And until he does then he will hold the title of being a complete A*heel.

NOVA FASHION WEEK, TOMMY HILFIGER AND LET'S BEAT BREAST CANCER

 LADIES AND GENTS--MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

This Saturday DC on HEELS is so excited to be covering NOVA FASHION WEEK. One of our favorite local designers-- Aidah Fontenot will be showcasing her collection. So stay tuned for great photos and coverage of this event.

ABOUT NOVA FASHION WEEK:

Northern Virginia Fashion Week was created in 2008 by Demour Group, for the fashion-ecentric consumer who lives for fashion and dies to see the latest trends arriving in this spectacular industry. It’s the opportunity for emerging and seasoned designers to debute their awaited collections to buyers and clientele enabeling the world to vicariously take part in their vision and passion. Anticipating and responding to changes in the fashion industry, NOVAFW presented another avenue for designers to still reach their audience and see the possibility of growth. And DC on HEELS will be there to see it all.

You rock Aidah! Can't wait to see the collection!

TOMMY HILFIGER FUNDRAISER: "FASHION'S FIGHT AGAINST MS"

In more fashion news our fab friends Kelly Ann Collins and Alicia Lewis of Glittarazi will be co-hosting "Fashion's Fight Against MS"--an exciting fundraiser in Washington, D.C. hosted by Tommy Hilfiger.
Check out more of the deets on their Facebook note page.

The event -- also hosted by Shannon Rusbuldt and ModelsHotel -- will feature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and a great runway show.

Tommy Hilfiger will host and will interact with attendees at a reception, along with several models from NYC and Washington, D.C. Former members of Congress ... will also attend, as well as corporate leaders and of course, the Glittarazzi.

This is a real NYC-style "Fashion Week" show, which is rarely done in Washington.

The runway show will be styled by Ally Hilfiger, and models will walk the runway to the music of renowned runway musician Henri Scars Struck. Led by a capsule collection from Tommy Hilfiger, five prominent NYC fashion designers will also present capsule collections from their Fall/Winter 2010 collections.

Tickets are $200. Proceeds will benefit the National Capital Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Buy your ticket now (there are a limited number of tickets and they will sell out).

The event will be held at The Washington Club, 15 Dupont Circle, N.W., at 6 p.m., on Tuesday, Oct. 19th.

October is a busy month here in Washington. It's breast cancer awareness month and there are many benefits, galas, and charitable organizations coming together here in our Nation's Capital to help fight this deadly disease. Everyone has been affected by breast cancer in some way shape or form. Whether it's your mother, sister, cousin, or friend everyone's life is can or will be affected by it.

Important Facts You Need To Know:
  • One in eight women or 12.6% of all women will get breast cancer in her lifetime
  • Breast cancer risk increases with age and every woman is at risk
  • Every 13 minutes a woman dies of breast cancer.
  • Seventy-seven percent of women with breast cancer are over 50.
  • The American Cancer Society estimates that about 2,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed in men each year and approximately 450 men die from breast cancer annually. Male breast cancers account for approximately 1% of all breast cancer cases.
So amidst all the glitz and glamour of all the red carpet events, fashion shows, and galas if you look around the statistics are frightening and chances are you are among somebody who has or will be affected by this disease. This past July, I had the opportunity to interview one of the most courageous and outstanding women in television news. None other than "Good Morning America" anchor Robin Roberts. Robin successfully battled breast cancer and returned to her spot on the Emmy-winning morning show. On the red carpet, at the Ford's Theatre  Fourth of July Celebration, she opened up to me about her struggle and triumphs battling breast cancer.

GOOD MORNING AMERICA'S ROBIN ROBERTS

Before her diagnosis, Roberts had "Seven Rules to Live By," but now she has eight. Read an excerpt from her book "From the Heart: Eight Rules to Live By" below or click here to read her personal essay.

Chapter 8
Make Your Mess Your Message
…when I said: "Isn't it wonderful how life can surprise you?" I never thought I'd write a book, but I did. And I never thought I would be diagnosed with breast cancer. But that's exactly what happened just a few months after the release of the book.
I was enjoying my summer. Traveling around the country meeting folks and asking them their rules to live by. I was about to leave for a rare two-week vacation when my beloved colleague and friend, Joel Siegel, lost his battle with colon cancer. I delayed my trip so I could attend Joel's funeral. It was a beautiful service, filled with wonderful stories of Joel's strength and courage. We also laughed a lot. Joel had a terrific sense of humor, and the laughter soothed our broken hearts.

It's Amore at Carmine's

The DC Food Blogger's Happy Hour @ Carmine's in Penn Quarter

Two words. It's Amore. DC on HEELS was so happy to be at the DC Food Bloggers Happy Hour at  at NYC's legendary family style italian restaurant Carmine's.

Carmines Restaurant (425 7th St, NW), is the newest family style eatery in Penn Quarter, boasting over 20,000-square-feet and a secret entrance for President Obama and Secret Service.

Carmine's has locations in New York, Atlantic City and even the Bahamas. It  has the same menu from when they opened 20 years ago. And tonight was the DC Food Blogger's Happy Hour at this legendary italian restaurant. It had me singing..

When the moon hits your eye like a big-a pizza pie

That's amore
When the world seems to shine like you've had too much wine
That's amore

Bells'll ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling
And you'll sing 'Vita bella'
Hearts'll play tippi-tippi-tay, tippi-tippi-tay
Like a gay tarantella

When the stars make you drool joost-a like pasta fazool
That's amore

When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet, you're in love
When you walk in a dream but you know you're not dreamin', signore
'scusa me, but you see, back in old Napoli, that's amore.

Thank's to Dining in DC's "hostess with the mostess"-Lisa Shapiro for hosting such a fabulous foodie  event.

I beelined it straight to the meatball sliders which were divine.

Up close and personal with the tasty sliders on onion foccacia flatbread.

Between the sliders (and then some),  pasta parlayed with a divine tomato sauce, crispy calamari  and the "Basil Bubbly" cocktail (that I washed down in 10 seconds flat) I would say it was a huge success! Oh and not to mention the great company!

Best part of the night was the bubbly. The "Basil Bubbly" specialty cocktail.

Kate Telefeyan (left) and fellow  local food blogger are all smiles =)

Enjoy a little vid of Carmine's CEO  (by the Washington City Paper ) at the grand opening of this italian eatery

The food..the romance..the  language... and the fashion... Those Italianos  are doing something seriously right!

    Ciao bella!
